Inspirational Musings – mostly from me, and some also from other people

There might be musings you really like and some you don’t.  Some may resonate with you and some not.  Eat the fish and spit out the bones!

> Lack of the love of the Self is at the heart of many, many problems. You have to love, accept and approve of yourself totally and unconditionally. Jesus said that you must love your neighbor AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. Say to yourself over and over: “I love, accept and appreciate myself fully; I approve of myself completely and unconditionally; I believe in myself, even if others don’t.”
&
> How do you see and experience yourself?
Tell me, honestly now, do you have an healthy self-image and high self-esteem? What is the picture you have of yourself in your heart? Do you love yourself just the way you are and God made you?  Look at yourself today in the mirror and see the unique person God created.  There is no one just like you on this earth!  Go ahead and give yourself a hug(!), and start celebrating yourself today!  By the way, only yóú can fulfill the calling and purpose for which God created you…

> “The just shall live by faith”: Rom1:17.  So what are you believing God for?  Are you believing Him for anything at all?!?  Set up a list with faith goals of at least the ten most important things that you are trusting God for in your life.  What do you want from life?  What do you REALLY want?!?  Talk to God about you faith goals and pray through them regularly.  Visualize the end result and SEE them as already fulfilled with the eye of faith.  He always meets us at the level of our expectation.

Ek trek al by meer as 40 items.  Kyk díkwels daarna.  Droom bietjie saam met die Here.  Visualiseer jou doelwitte.

> A quick Sunday sermon, for those who haven’t figured it out yet: YOU CANNOT LIVE LIFE SUCCESSFULLY WITHOUT GOD. You have been created to live in partnership with God. Stop trying to do it all on your own, get right with God and live in divine abundance! You have been created to love and enjoy God.

> Many people today feel like a victim of their circumstances; but remember, yóú are the creator of your own life. Life is your canvas and you are the artist, painting with your beliefs, thoughts, expectations and actions.

> Mini-sermon for Sunday: we sang this morning: “For only in Your will can we be really free.” Catch a hold of this wonderful truth today!

> Faith that works!  Rom 10:8: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.”  Faith must be in two places; in your HEART and in your MOUTH.  Faith is deposited in your heart through meditating on God’s Word, and released through your mouth by confession of the Word. The Word is the fuel and confession is the spark that ignites the fuel!  If it is only in your mouth it is not very effective, and if it only in your mouth it has no real force behind it.  “If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it shall move.  And nothing shall be impossible to you.”  Matt 17:20.

> Catch this! Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. If you want to change your outer world, first change your inner world! You change your world through what you believe, think, speak and do. It is really as simple (and powerful) as that.  The world without is a reflection of the world within!
& When you change yourself, your also change your world.
&
>You are attracting everything that’s coming into your life by virtue of the images you hold in your mind.  Like attracts like, and so as you think a thought, you are also attracting like thoughts to you.  What you fócus on is what you attract and create.  Thoughts have a frequency, a resonance.  Change your life by changing your thoughts.  If you control your thoughts, you control your life.  What you think about you bring about.  If you see it in your mind, you’re going to hold it in your hand! (The Secret & Prov 23:7, Rom 12:2)
&
> Thoughts have the power to positively effect the brain’s chemistry and functioning.  The minute you start programming yourself positively, you have already changed the biochemical processes in the brain, and they bring about physical changes.

> Catch this today and it will set you free.  Don’t wait for Gód to do everything fór you.  Get this, you are a co-creator wíth God.  Exercise your faith force and muscle – Jesus said yóú can move a mountain that way!  (Mark 11:23-24.)  Faith is not just a concept but a very real and powerful fórce.  Jesus said to the woman in Mark 5:34: “Yóúr faith has made you well.”  You don’t need God to supernaturally intervene all the time in your life, meaning through an “act of God”.  Just make use everyday of the spiritual laws and principles that He has already set in motion upon the earth – they work because He ordained it so!  Yóú are the creator of your own life and destiny, either with or without God.  Gód doesn’t do it all for you – yóú create your own universe.  Táke control of you life and destiny todáy!  Take ownership and responsibility for your own life and success today.  Take charge of your future.  People want God do to everything for them, but what they don’t realize is, théy have been given the power!  Do you want to see a miracle?  Bé the miracle!  SEE it with the eye of faith, speak it and do it.

> We make money to live, we don’t live to make money!  Is money your servant or your god?  Although having said that about money we shouldn’t have a negative view of money.  Money is neutral. Your BELIEFS determine your experience with money.  And this is also true: we should have a healthy and positive attitude towards money and making money.  Money is nót the root of all evil as sometimes wrongly quoted, lóving it too much is.  Money should be a friend and not something negative.  Money is simply a means to an end and not an end in itself.

> Ask yourself these simple but important questions (many times used in retreats):

1)  Who am I? (can you define yourself in one or two sentences?)
2)  Why am I really here?  (Do I REALLY know God’’s intentional will for my life?)
3)  Where am I going?
4)  a)  What do I REALLY want? (Many people don’t really know)
b)  What must I DO to accomplish it?

“If you truly know who you are, then you will know what you really want, and where you are going”

Who am I? is all about life purpose, that is, why am I really here?  This is the most important question and also the most difficult of all.  It may take you several years to answer this question in a sentence or two.  But keep on working on it.  Do nót define yourself only by what you do, for example:  “I am John the business man.”  You are more than just your work!  Your greater purpose stretches beyond your work and career.  Your purpose in life is also supposed to be your passion!!  That is, the thing that makes you want to get up in the morning and enthusiastically pursue it.  God created you and so only in fellowship with Him will you find all that you have been created for!  To know God is also to really know yourself.

May this year be a year of greater self-discovery, leading to self-fulfillment and happiness!

You have been born for a purpose the world cannot do without.

PS: Here is a very good exercise.  Take out a piece of paper and write on top of it: “What is my true purpose in life?”  First pray about it, and then start writing down all the answers that spontaneously come to your mind.  It takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to really get going.  Try to keep on writing for an hour or more.  Keep on writing even though you may have more than a hundred answers.  Write till it flows naturally.  We are all preconditioned and need to tap deeper into our subconscious.  Write as much as you can.  The answers that réálly touch your heart are those that you must give attention to.  That is where your life purpose lies.  Do that which God really created you for and enjoy life to the full!

“When you find your purpose, it is like your heart has been set alight with passion. You know it absolutely, without any doubt.”  Rhonda Byrne

> Each of us is here on earth to 1) discover our true
Self 2) express our unique talents 3) serve humanity 4) love and enjoy
God forever.

> God doesn’t give anyone the power to know the future, because life becomes maddeningly boring when you know everything upfront. So, instead of struggling, embrace and enjoy the uncertainty – to be alive means to nót know.

> “Ek weet wat ek vir julle beplan, sê die Here: voorspoed en nie teenspoed nie; Ek wil vir julle ‘n toekoms gee, ‘n verwagting!” (Jer 29:11).
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for prosperity and peace, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer 29:11).
&
> God’s will is your well-being – believe it! He is a góód God and wants to bless you, prosper you, and give you good health; in évery area of your life, meeting áll your needs – making you a whole person (3 John 2 – Oral Roberts). Dare to believe it today!
&
> God loves you, He a good God, and His will is your well-being.  He is a Provider and wants to bless and prosper you spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, socially/relationship wise, and also economically.
&
> It is easy for the Lord to prosper you!
“Stand by your contract and give your mind to it; grow old at your work.  Do not envy the wicked their achievements; trust the Lord and stick to your job, for it is very easy for the Lord to make the poor rich all in a moment.  Piety is rewarded by the Lord’s blessing, which blossoms in a single hour.  Do not say, “What use am I?  What good can the future hold for me?”  Hardship is forgotten in time of prosperity.”  Ecclesiasticus 11:21-25 (apocrypha which was read as Scripture by the early Church).

> Profound – God Restores!!
We all have missed opportunities or blown chances at some time in our lives.  Don’t be discouraged; God can make the rest of your life so rewarding and so fulfilling that it makes up for lost opportunities in your past.  God controls time.  For every opportunity you’ve missed, every chance you’ve blown, God can turn back the clock and bring bigger and better things across your path.  He said in Joel 2:25 that He will restore the years that have been lost or stolen.  God always has another season.  He will give you another chance.  He can reset the clock in your life.  He can and will restore the years you’ve lost – He will make up for those years.  Just stay in faith!  Joel Osteen (It’s Your Time!)

> “If they obey and serve Him, they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness and joy” Job 36:11

> “Die goddelose het baie smarte, maar wie op die Here vertrou, dié omvou Hy met sy liefde.” Ps 32:10

> On Spiritual Laws
EVERYTHING in nature and the universe works according to divine laws and principles.  There are physical laws ánd there are spiritual laws.  God does not have to supernaturally intervene all the time in His universe.  If we go against these laws and principles, we suffer.  Spiritual laws are contained in places like The Ten Commandments and Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.  Don’t break the spiritual laws, because just like physical laws, you will suffer the consequences!  If you jump off a building you are going to get hurt – according to the law of gravity; just so with spiritual laws.  The universe is a very moral universe, based on order that we can see everywhere.  Behind the physical universe lies the spiritual world we can’t see.  Don’t think just because you can’t see the spiritual world that it is not there and will not affect your life.  The physical world is contained and governed by the spiritual world, which is of an higher dimension.  Live your life according to Gód’s divine order!

> God kyk na jou in Christus, as jy sy kind is. Het jy regtig geweet dat God ‘n goeie opinie van jou het, dat Hy van jou hou, nie sleg van jou dink nie, en oor jou glimlag? Waag dit om dit vandag te glo!

> Religion vs Reality
I am so SICK of religion!  Are you busy with religion, or with God?  Do you just believe mentally, or do you have a relationship with God?!  2 Tim 3:5.  Are you busy with the kingdom of God, or just another religious institution, with no real power?  “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof”. 2 Tim 3:5.  People don’t need religion, they need salvation, healing, deliverance and restoration, just like in the days of Jesus.  A church that doesn’t evangelize doesn’t have the right to exist, it is just another religious institution(!) – and that would unfortunately include many, many churches!  Is your church just a powerless religious institution, or place of vibrant spiritual reality?  May God help us to stop playing church!
&
> When you get closer to God, you don’t become more religious, you become more húman! More loving, more compassionate, more caring, more forgiving, more non-judgmental, more tolerant; in essence, more like Jesus!

> The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning of something new.

> The biggest religion in the world today is not Christianity, as you may have thought, but the “secular religion” of Materialism, whose god is Mammon. What are peoples idols today? Money, science and technology. Oh, and don’t forget about the cult of celebrity.
&
> A study by the World Institute for Development Economics Research at United Nations University reports that the richest 1% of adults alone owned 40% of global assets in the year 2000, and that the richest 10% of adults accounted for 85% of the world total. The bottom half of the world adult population owned 1% of global wealth. Sickening isn’t it?

> The Power of Your Thoughts
The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

Always have a positive mental attitude.

“If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place.”  Lao Tzu

“What you think about you bring about.” “Thoughts become things.”  Proctor/Dooley

Get this!  Thoughts have the power to positively effect ones brain’s chemistry and functioning.  The minute you start programming yourself positively, you have already changed the biochemical processes in your brain, and they bring about physical changes.

Fact is: You create you own reality, through 1) your thoughts 2) your words, and 3) your actions – so: 1) Think it, 2) Speak it, 3) Do it!
&
> Predict your future by taking control of your life! You take control by: 1) what you THINK 2) what you SAY, and 3) what you DO. It is as simple as that!
&
> It is not only what you are underneath, but specially what you DO that defines you.
&

> Impossible is not an fact, it’s an opinion. Impossible is nothing.

> Woman was created from the rib of man, not from his head to be thought of only, nor from his hand to be owned, nor from his foot to be beneath, but from under his arm to be protected, from his side to be equal, and from his heart to be loved…

> The most beautiful things God ever created were first, the creation/cosmos itself, and secondly, women!

> Speaking of the devil…  There are nót two Gods, one good and one evil God.  There is only óne God, and nobody is like Him, or His equal!  The devil is not really the enemy of God; God is far too exalted and powerful for that!  The devil is the enemy of mankind, and his real rivals are the angels.  The devil either wants us to believe that he doesn’t exist, or otherwise that he is véry powerful – both are lies that people believe.  He doesn’t have any legal right to Christian’s lives and can only influence them through temptation, ignorance, lies, unbelief, doubt, fear, confusion and deception.  The Bible clearly states that he has been destroyed (brought to nought) in Christ (Heb 2:14).

Geluk is ‘n keuse!

“Die lewe is ‘n keuse.  Dit is JOU lewe.  Kies bewustelik, kies wys, en kies eerlik.  Kies geluk.”

> Here’s the world’s oldest man’s secret to a long life:
• Embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face. (“Every change is good.”)
• Eat two meals a day (“That’s all you need.”)
• Work as long as you can (“That money’s going to come in handy.”)
• Help others (“The more you do for others, the better shape you’re in.”)
Walter Breuning (USA) – 114 years old

> “Mense bestuur hulle buitewêreld, maar het nog nooit hulle binnewêreld leer bestuur nie. Hulle binnewêreld is chaoties! Word stil en leer jou binnewêreld ken. Jou binnewêreld is in wese baie ryker as jou buitewêreld – werk aan jou binnewêreld!” Piet Muller

> “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.” Prov 4:23. Your spiritual heart is the source of all that is good and evil, in thoughts, words and deeds. Watch over your heart and protect it!

> “Happiness comes as a byproduct of a life well lived.” Henry Cloud

> “To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.’ Lao Tzu

> Happiness is not defined by what you have or by what happens to you, but by who you are.

> Those who say something is impossible are usually surprised by others doing it.

> “You cannot make God stop loving you. If you try, you’ll fail, because his love is based on WHO HE IS, not on what you’ve done.” Rick Warren

> God’s will is YOUR WELL-BEING. Believe it! God is good and the devil is bad – dón’t confuse the two! We suffer mainly because of our sin and ignorance. Why must you suffer in life unnecessary when Jesus álready suffered for yóú on the cross? Exchange defeat todáy for a life of victory in Christ!

> The Power of Faith
It is really simple: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Rom 10:17.  The more time you spend in the Word, the more faith it produces in your heart.  Faith is released through verbal confession of the Word.  Lastly, act on it.  Develop and grow your faith muscle.  Faith is a spiritual force; it will radically change your circumstances for the better and create miracles in your life.  Meditate on the Word, then speak it, and dó it – it wíll radically change your life!
&
> “The just shall live by faith.”: Rom1:17. So are you living by faith? What are you believing God for in your life? Have you got any faith goals? Faith is always activated though a specifically defined faith goal. Pray about it, reflect on it, and them write down specific faith goals that you trust God for in your life. You will be surprised over time how many God will answer!

> ‘The key to our future lies in the wisdom of our past.”  Greg Braden

> “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7. Many Christians abide in Christ, that is they are born again and pray, but His Word is not really abiding in them. It doesn’t really live in them and has not renewed their minds. Renew your mind through the Word of God! Romans 12:1 says: “But be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

> “It’s not only the size of your dreams that determine whether or not they come true, but the size of the actions you take that imply their inevitable arrival. The bigger the dream, the bigger the action.” Mike Dooley

> God’s will for your life is shalom: peace (Jer29:11). This word means: peace, prosperity, security, stability, nothing missing, nothing broken, well-being, completeness and wholeness. So receive His shalom today!

> Your BELIEFS about money determine your experience with money. Wealth and wealth creation is a state of mind – a mindset; it’s all about how you THINK – ask the rich! Usually, it’s not thinking about the bucks that makes one rich, but thinking rich that makes the bucks. Think about it.
&
> How do you THINK about money?  What is your ATTITUDE towards money?  There are key differences between the way rich people look at money and the way the rest of us do, according to Steve Siebold: Wealthy people look at money in positive terms and as an opportunity and potential, where as most of us live in fear of being laid off or not having enough money for retirement.  Instead of worrying about running out of money, soon to be millionaires are thinking how to make more money. World-class performers are finding problems that are profitable to solve. They know that just because a solution hasn’t been discovered yet doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.  Millionaires tend to move towards what they want, rather than move away from what they don’t want and fear, which is what the masses most often do.  World-class thinkers have the guts to be optimistic right now in these shaky times and reject the middle-class cynicism that plagues the masses. It’s not comfortable for a millionaire in the making to forge ahead when everyone around him or her is negative, cynical and unsupportive, yet the great ones push forward and are rewarded with riches for the rest of their lives.  Siebold’s bottom line: “Take inventory of your consciousness and the way you think about money and ask yourself: Is this the way a rich person thinks or someone in the middle class thinks about money?”  Some people even have a poverty mentality, that is, scarcity and lack: “there is never enough.”  Change your thinking and attitude about money and see the results.

> True happiness
“The closer one brings oneself to God the happier one is.  It is the end of our lives.  And because He is an infinitely good being, He eternally seeks our well-being.  Therefore, there is no cause for worry in any of the things which happen to us.  It is a pity that the world has lost all sense of God.  It is a pity; they have no reason to live anymore. When you abolish the thought of God, why should you go on living on this earth?  God is infinitely good, and all of his actions are in our best interest.  Because of this, a Christian should always be happy, never unhappy.  God is infinitely good, almighty, and He helps us.  This is all one must do, and then one is happy.”  Into Great Silence – monk at Grand Chartreuse, France.

> Time – The Way to a Meaningful Life
To find a third way between crazy consumerism and living without money.  “To spend money on what you really need and not on what you desperately want!  By USING LESS, we might actually have more time to really do and be what we want to do and be.  Time – maybe that’s the way to a meaningful life.  Time goes by so quickly, and you can never get it back.  Don’t be just another rat in the rat race and on the treadmill of life.  WANT LESS and make time for what is réálly important in life!”  PO Jones – priest

> Thought for the Day
Contrary to what religious tradition says, God is a loving Father who wants to give good things to His children.  He’s not confused about what’s good and what’s bad, we are.  He has good plans, good places and good things stored up for those who love Him.

Your confession of faith will cause God to work on your behalf.  What you see in God’s Word and confess will create the reality of it in your life.  Sooner or later you become what you confess.  Kenneth Hagin

> If you live in the past, it is hard – God’s Name is not “I was”. If you live in the future, it is hard – His Name is not “I shall be”. If you live in the present, it is easy – God’s Name is “I am”. He is the EVER PRESENT God.

> Covenant with God
God interacts in our lives not because of our works, but because of our faith.  He is not primarily committed to us on the basis of what we do or do not do – He is committed and bound to us by His covenant of grace.  God establishes relationship with us though covenant when we accept Christ as our Saviour.  A covenant is a divine agreement that says: I belong to you and you belong to me; all that is mine is yours and all that is yours is mine.  Out of it flows covenant grace, covenant privileges and covenant blessings.  We are blessed through covenant with God’s grace, mercy, love, compassion, goodness, loving-kindness, favour, provision and protection.  Have faith in His covenant of grace and not in your own works and performance.  Do you have a covenant-relationship with God?

> Yóú have the power to change your life. The power to change does not lie outside of you – it is inside you! Don’t be a victim of life. Táke personal responsibility for your life. You are the creator of your own life. Life is your canvas and you are painting with your beliefs, thoughts, expectations and actions.

> Seize the Day!
Waking up each morning is a miniature rebirth in itself.  You are álive(!) and God has given you a néw day!  Todáy, you can be anything you choose to be.  Anything and everything is possible today!  Put the past where it belongs – in the pást, and seize the new day.  God’s abundant grace is new every morning!  His grace gives you strength to make new decisions each day, followed by new actions.  Make some time with God, first thing in the morning, and just see how the rest of the day is blessed!

> About healing and divine healing:
It is God’s will for you to live in divine health.  Divine health is better than divine healing.  Live in communion with God so that His life can flow into your body just as the life of God flows into your spirit and into your mind.  Jesus álready took all your sicknesses, diseases and weaknesses on the cross, together with your sin, more than 2000 years ago.  “…by whose wounds you were healed.” 1 Pet 2:24 (Is 53:4-5).  You just have to receive it by faith.  As far as Jesus is concerned, you’re not the sick trying to get healed.  You’re the healed and Satan is trying to steal your health – just as he steals from us also financially.  Quit trying to talk God into healing and just begin receiving it by faith!  Resist and refuse sickness and disease the same way you resist sin.  Start putting God’s Word and promises about healing into your heart, and then start speaking it daily.  Be consistent about it.  “My son, pay attention to my words; stretch your ear to what I say; let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the center of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and healing to all your flesh.” Prov 4:20-22.  Gloria Copeland & I

> Watch out for religion! Religion will take a brilliant singer like Cat Stevens and make him give up his passion and gifting for the sake of religion. Religion will suck your mind out and push you over the edge of sanity and common sense. > Don’t be BOUND by unforgiveness. It poisons your spirit! Forgiveness is really an act of self-healing – it sets YOU free. Forgiveness is an act of the WILL – an act of faith. You dón’t have to FEEL it. It is an act of obedience to God’s Word. Décide to forgive people and then just dó it – it is a decision. Verbalize it aloud. Follow these four steps: 1) forgive people, 2) release them, 3) let go of it, and then 4) forget about it! Don’t live in unforgiveness – it will seriously damage you relationship with God.

“The ancient Babylonians practiced a vital law that was the cause of their immense prosperity. They used the tithing law, which involves giving one-tenth of all money or riches that you receive. The tithing law says that you must give to receive, and the Babylonians knew that the practice of this law opens up the flow of abundance. If you are thinking, “I will give when I have enough money,” then the tithing law says you will never have enough money, because you have to give first. > Here is a reflective exercise for today. Is your life about the pursuit of personal wealth, or the pursuit of the common good of your family and fellow man? Is the acquisition of wealth the driving force in your life, or do you strive to constantly better yourself as a person? We get so easily brainwashed by our materialistic society, because “everybody is doing it.” But that doesn’t make it right. Think about it…

> “What others think of you is none of your business.”

> Get a hold of this today: If you can change your thoughts you can change your life. You first change what is on the inside – your thoughts – and then the outside and your circumstances will also change and start falling into place. What is on the outside is just a reflection of what is going on in the inside. Faith is the opposite of fear and doubt; faith is on the inside. It determines your outward reality, together with your thoughts. What you believe, and what you think, and what you say, is what you inevitably get! If you control your thoughts and your tongue, you control your life. Change your life by changing your thoughts and your attitude. It all starts in the mind.

> Guide to a better life by Randy Pausch ~
1. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
2. Don’t have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
3. Don’t overdo; keep your limits.
4. Don’t take yourself so seriously; no one else does!
5. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
6. Dream more while you are awake.
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner of his/ her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
10. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except yóú.
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class, but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more.
14. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

People respect natural laws like gravity, but forget about spiritual laws, that are actually more important. Everything in nature, the world, and the universe works according to divine laws and principles. God does not have to supernaturally intervene all the time in His universe. It is governed by spiritual and natural laws. If we go against these laws and principles, we suffer. Sin is breaking spiritual laws, like the Ten Commandments, and the principles given by Jesus in the sermon on the mount and in the gospels. Spiritual law dictates for example: what you reap you will sow, and: for every action there is a consequence. The invisible world of the spirit is actually more real than the physical world.

By consciously choosing your thoughts, you will consciously create your life and reality. You cannot change your reality until you change your thinking.

> “Every leaf that grows will tell you…what you sow will bear fruit. So if you have any sense my friend, don’t plant anything but LOVE.” Rumi

> It might surprise you, but there are certain things God cánnot do. He cannot repent for you; He cannot believe for you; He cannot take responsibility for your life – yóú have to do it yourself. He cannot violate His own holy Scriptures and principles therein. He cannot protect you from the devil and evil if you do things that give the enemy legal right and access to your life. God is just and álways works according to His own established righteous and holy laws and principles. He is bound to His own Word and holiness, and cannot violate the principles thereof. He rules nature, the world, and the universe according to His own natural and spiritual laws and principles. So, if you ignore natural and spiritual laws you wíll suffer. What you sow, you wíll reap. Don’t ever blame God for your misfortunes! His will has always been your comprehensive well-being, and your overall prosperity, that is spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically, relationally, and financially. His will is never hardship, calamity, and suffering. God is good and the devil is bad – dón’t confuse the two! Arrange your life according to Hís spiritual laws and principles in His Word, and you wíll be blessed – and you wíll prosper!

> Vital Key to Success:
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7. Many Christians abide in Christ, that is they are born again and pray, but His Word is not really abiding in them. It doesn’t really live in them and has not renewed their minds. Renew your mind through the Word of God! Romans 12:1 says: “But be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.” Meditate on the Word of God, speak it, and dó it!

> Medicine for the day:
If the people in your life and around you don’t affirm you enough, affirm yourself by speaking positive affirmations daily over yourself.  For example: “I am a beautiful and intelligent person”, “I am unique and one of a kind”, “I love, honour and respect myself”, “I approve of myself completely and unconditionally“, I am kind to myself”, “I believe in myself, even if others don’t”, “I am worthy of love”, “I accept and appreciate myself fully“, “I am kind and compassionate to other people”, “I deserve to be happy”, etc… – celebrate yoursélf!

> The seen material universe is very ordered, just so is the unseen spiritual world. God created matter. So spirit governs matter. The three dimensional material world of time and space is governed by the fourth dimension of spirit. God governs the universe and world through divine laws, divine principles, that is though spiritual laws and principles. They are just as real as physical laws, like gravity, even more so. If you live in harmony with God’s divine laws, as found in His Word, you prosper. If you transgress them you suffer. Think about it and apply it to your life… (Joshua 1:8)

> Doesn’t matter what you do or don’t do, God cannot love you any less, neither can He love you any more than He already does. His love is constant, perfect, full on. Isn’t this good news? All around us we see many people wasting their lives and just drifting through life day to day, busy with the daily grind, never really fulfilling their true potential and God-given purpose in life. > Let us remember this week during Holy Week, where we are reminded of Christ’s suffering, that there is nó such a thing as crossless Christianity. Jesus asks of us – as a requirement for true discipleship – to deny the sélf, take up our cross (choose His will over our own) and follow Him. I have seen in some churches people coming to the front – “without a tear in their eye” – without ány sense of remorse and repentance for their sin, and accepting Jesus as a means to greater success and prosperity in life. We think that God is just, love, love, love – “God is Love Alone”, says one popular book title. But God is álso Hóly. > I must admit today, I am addicted to God. I can’t live anymore without God’s love, joy and peace in my heart, without His daily grace. How do people live without God? How do you live without His grace, His love, His presence, His guidance and counsel, His wisdom, His protection, His provision? Without God you have to do éverything by yoursélf – It must be véry hard! God is awesome – as the young people would say, he is flippen awesome!

> For Sunday – from: “On this day, God wants you to know that…”
The voice of God is best heard in silence.
All too often loud events and daily busyness cloud your vision of God. Take some time to slow down; let there be silence, let there be peace. Calm your mind and let your inner voice re-emerge from the silence. Allow yourself to see visions, allow yourself to dream dreams; and you may hear the voice of God reaching out to you.

> Silence is golden.
When we are quiet, we can hear God’s messages to us. Sometimes these messages may be in the form of subtle intuition. Sometimes it may feel like an inner knowing. Sometimes we may hear a ‘still, small voice.’ If it feels right in your heart, trust that it is God speaking to you.

> It’s OK.
Just rest for a moment. It’s OK. Yes, things are crazy, yes, the world is going nuts. Yet, deep underneath the stormy waves, there, in the core of your being, there is pure silence, pure love. And … it’s … just … OK.

> Rom 12:2: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
To renew the mind is to reprogram your mind. Reprogram your mind with the Word of God. It will make you a super-positive person. Say about yourself what God says about you in His holy Word. Reprogram your mind with positive texts and affirmations from God’s Word. It will penetrate your subconscious mind and rewire your brain. Because of the plasticity of the brain, you can retrain and rewire it for success. The Word of God meditated upon daily, and spoken daily, wíll heal and restore your whóle life!

He said in Joel 2:25 that He will restore the years that have been lost or stolen. God always has another season. He will give you another chance. He can reset the clock in your life. > Whether you realize it or not, people need faith just as much as they food. What food is to the body, God’s Word is too our spirit. Faith is released through verbal confession of the Word. Your confession of faith will cause God to work on your behalf.

Geluk is ‘n keuse!

God does not primarily deal with you on the basis of what you do or do not do, or on the basis or your works, performance or perfection, but on the basis of His covenant of grace. God is a covenant God. God made a covenant, or holy agreement with you through the Blood of Jesus. Because of the covenant you have covenant benefits, that is covenant grace, covenant love, covenant favour, covenant provision, covenant protection, covenant health, etc. Put your faith in God’s covenant with you made through Christ, and lean not on your own works, performance or perfection. Remind God of His covenant!

Romans 8:31.  And to tell you that I am not counting your sins. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.  Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.  His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you. 1 John 4:10.  I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love. Romans 8:31-32.  If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. 1 John 2:23.  And nothing will ever separate you from my love again. Romans 8:38-39.  Come home and I will throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. Luke 15:7.  I have always been Father and will always be Father. Ephesians 3:14-15.  My question is… will you be my child? John 1:12-13.  I am waiting for you. Luke 15:11-32.

Love, Your Dad

ALMIGHTY GOD

———————————————————————————————————————————-

Would you like to come home?
All you need to do is simply believe that Jesus died in yóúr place to reconcile you with the Father.  The following words might help you express your thoughts to God:

Father, I want to come home.  Please make me your child.  I need your grace and salvation.  I acknowledge and confess my sins and turn away today from my old life which I lived without you.  I am sorry for that.  Forgive me my sins and set me free from them.  Lord Jesus, I believe that you suffered and died on the cross for me, and that you rose again from the dead.  I open my heart now to you and accept you today in faith as my Savior, my Lord and my Friend.  I thank you that your blood now cleanses me from all my sin and that you accept me as your child.  I give my whole life and future into your hands.  Thank you for making me part of your family .  I am now saved, I am born again!  Amen (Rev 3:20, Acts 20:21, John 1:12; 5:24).

Getting out of Debt and Building Wealth

Just a short note on getting out of debt.  Most financial advisors say that we should álways pay ourselves first, that is save at least 10% of our income monthly.  After saving 10% we should then seriously strive to increase it to 15%, and then to 20%, and then to 30% as we get into our middle age.  We should really be saving 10% for short term purposes and another 10% for long term purposes, for our retirement – which together makes 20%, and then strive to increase it to 30%.  But… experts say that we should first really focus on paying off our debts.  We should be paying between 20-30% off on our debts monthly, in order to redeem it as soon as possible.  Cut all expenses drastically until your bad debt is payed off.  Bad debts are those things that decrease in value the moment you buy them,  instead of increasing in value like in most property.  Bad debt not only decreases in value, but usually it increases through the interest being added to it monthly.

After you have redeemed most of your bad debt, you should start saving up to 30% of your income (the same percentage you previously payed to bad debt), and learn to live on only 70%.  This is crucial – that is to learn to learn to live on only 70% of your income!  If you are a Christian and you tithe – which is an excellent practice, you should learn to live on even less.  The more money you make, the more you should save, and not spend more!  When your financial prosperity increases, stay within your usually middle class spending habits and dón’t start to spend more money.  Sáve more money!  Build up a surplus, or a money tree and watch it grow steadily over time.  When we really start saving, the first two years is not so difficult.  But after three to five years we are sorely tempted to spend our savings on something – dón’t!  If you keep on saving, you can be well away after five to ten years, and after ten to twenty years you can be relatively rich!

Most people stress that you should first pay off your debt before you start saving, because of the high interest you pay on debt, versus the much lower interest you get on savings.  But the fact is that most people will always have some sort of bad debt, and if you don’t start seriously saving somewhere, you probably never will!  There you have it – it is not rocket science.  Apply the above principles and it wíll work for you.  Getting out of debt and building wealth is not difficult, but it takes absolute discipline!  It takes a plan of action to achieve financial freedom.  Financial discipline and self-control is within your grasp.  Táke control of your personal finances todáy!

What does the Bible Teach about Finances and Giving?

Concerning Biblical Economics/Kingdom Economics, and Christian Giving

NB: Please note, I have since posting the article below, updated my views quite a bit.  I don’t believe anymore that the New Testament teaches or required tithing as such, but rather free-will giving.  The early Church also did not teach tithing.  But I still believe that tithing is a really good principle to live by, also practiced by other ancient cultures who prospered.  I actually give much móre than my tithe, as explained below in the Offerings and Alms sections.  I will update this article sometime, but leave it for now as is, as many of the principles in it are still true and apply to us today.

Christians and many people in general don’t always realize it, but the Bible teaches a lot about finances, giving and wealth – in a simple and clear way. Jesus had a lot to say about money, riches, wealth and giving, and many of His parables demonstrate this (out of 38 parables in the gospels, 16 of them dealt with money).  However, I must warn, that this article is for máture Christians.

When it comes to finances and giving, there is Gód’s way versus the world’s way, Gód’s system versus the world’s system, Gód’s wisdom versus the world’s wisdom.  There ís actually such a thing as biblical economics, or kingdom economics, and biblical prosperity.  Not all that the world teaches about finances is wrong of course – not at all; there are something as common sense financial secular principles, which help us to understand finances and money management.  But the biblical and kingdom principles in God’s Word regarding finances are superior to worldly wisdom and should be regarded as such.

There are divine principles in the Word of God, the Bible, like giving and receiving, sowing and reaping, and seedtime and harvest.  We give generously to Kingdom causes because God is a generous giver Himself.  He gave His áll for us, He gave His Son Jesus.  You first give  yourself and your heart to God, and then your resources and money – 2 Cor 8:5.  You cannot outgive God – many have tried, but nóne have succeeded so far!  God is debtor to no man.  Jesus said: “Give, and it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over, they shall give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you measure, it shall be measured to you again.”  Luke 6:38.

We don’t give just out of duty or compulsion.  What is to be our attitude when giving?  We give: 1) Out of thankfulness for what we have received, 2) out of obedience to God’s Word, 3) From the heart, with joy – because we really wánt to (2 Cor 9:8), and 4) like a any farmer who expects an harvest in return.  We give out of principle, we decide how much we want to give and then simply give it.  We should always be principle-centered people practicing principle-centered living.  We don’t live only to get, but we live especially to give!

New Testament giving is also really different from Old Testament giving.  In the OT you first receive and then give, in the NT you give many times béfore receiving!  We now give as seed we sow, not so much as a debt we owe.  Sometimes we should even give beyond reason, give extravagantly, and also give sacrificially.  How do we get out of our financial trouble and debt?  Apart from careful financial planning and discipline, we GIVE ourselves out of poverty, lack and debt!  And I am talking now about giving to Kingdom purposes and concerns.  We give éspecially in times of famine, when we dón’t tightening the purse string of our giving.  This may be contrary to the world’s wisdom, but it is nevertheless true.

Christians and other people are usually conscious of the teaching on tithes in the Bible, but not so much on other the teachings in the Bible regarding finances and giving.  Scripture actually teaches: 1) First fruits, 2) Tithes, 3) Offerings, and 4) Alms.  It is important that we understand áll four, if we truly want to prosper financially as Christians.

Tithes
I am not going to say too much about tithes (ten percent of our income), because a lot has been already said on it which you can find on the Internet and in good Christian books. Tithes was given in the Old Testament mainly for support of the Levites and the priests in the temple, in other word, for the continuing of Gód’s work.  Tithing is not only part of the law, as some people think, because Abraham and Jacob both tithed béfore the law was given to Moses (Gen 14:20; 28:22).  Jesus and the apostle Paul also speak of tithing (Matt 23:23; Heb 7:1-9).  Malachi has some important things to say about tithes and offerings: “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed You?  In tithes and offerings.  You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation.  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and test me now Me now with this says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open up the windows of heaven to you, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts.”  Mal 3:8-11.  God says in this passage of Scripture that if we don’t give the tithe to Him, we rób Him, and that there is a curse upon our lives (a financial curse), it is as simple and straightforward as that!  Do you want to live under a financial curse or blessing?  It is no rocket science!

Tithing protects you financially, and also releases general blessings in your life . Its also positions you for God’s future blessings. The tithe is the minimum we give. It is the beginning of our giving. Technically the tithe is not an offering, because it belongs to the Lord. We bring or return the tithe – it is Gód’s; we pay it, we don’t really give or sow it (it is not ours to give, it belongs to Gód). It is mandatory, so it is payment. It is for our own protection and géneral blessing. It opens up the windows of heavenly blessings so that we can live under an open heaven – it “unties” the hands of God to bless us! When we bring or return our tithe to God, He blesses, anoints, and stretches the rest of our money that’s left so that we always have enough at the end of the month. It doesn’t really make mathematical sense, but it álways works that way! You say that you cannot afford to tithe, I say that you cannot afford nót to tithe!  When we don’t tithe, we give the devil legal right to our lives: our car breaks, home appliances break, things get lost or stolen, etc, and you néver make ends meet.  The destroyer is doing his work!  The tithe belongs to the Lórd, therefore it is hóly – dón’t touch it!  Don’t spend or use it – Lev 27:30.  Your tithe belongs to your local store house – your church where you worship and are spiritually fed and nourished.  Tithes and offerings are given to a church for the support of the church’s mission, ministry, budget, maintenance, and for the relief of the poor.  When we bring our tithe to the Lord we really have not “given” Him anything yet.  We are simply even or at sea level!  It belonged to Him anyway.  Tithing is really baby steps – it is the béginning of giving and becoming a very generous person. Tithing is nót the ultimate goal, it is the default for the believer!  We give our tithe first thing when we get our monthly income.  If we try to give it later it becomes very difficult.  Whether you give your tithe from your gross income or your nett income is up to you.  I give it from the nett, because that is really the money that I have in hand to work with.  Also remember, your tithe goes to your local church, that is, for the extension of Christ’s kingdom – you are nót free to give it to the poor and needy, that is what alms are for, otherwise your tithe will be reckoned by God as alms.  Many Christians believe that when they have given the tithe, they have done all that is required, but it is not the case.

Offerings
Offerings are what you give over and above your tithe (Mark 12:41-44; Acts 24:17).  Tithing protects you financially, and releases general blessings in your life; but offerings multiplies you financially.  The blessing on offerings are usually even greater than on the tithe, because it is freely given.  Be lead by the Hóly Spirit to give beyond your tithe.  Why not try to give 5% of your income in offerings additionally to your tithe?  Remember, you cannot outgive God!  Your tithe belongs to the local storehouse – your church, but your offerings may be given usually Sundays on the offering plate, or to other ministries as well, like for evangelism, as the Holy Spirit directs you.  When we return our tithe to the Lord (because it belongs to Him), we have really just given the minimum requirement.  But when we give offerings, it is multiplied to our credit, because it is a freewill offering.  God multiplies it back to us as a harvest, sometimes even a miracle harvest!  Our giving should always increase over time, instead of giving just the minimum 10%.  As your financial prosperity increases, try to give 15%, and then 20%, and then 30%, until you eventually give 90% away and live on the remaining 10% – because you don’t really need more than that!  Don’t hoard money.  Warren Buffett has said that during his lifetime he plans to give away at least 99% of all his wealth, and he is not even a confessing Christian!  Be wise to sow your freewill offerings into good soil, that is ministries that bear good fruit.

Alms
Almsgiving or charity has always been very important in the Judeo-Christian tradition.  Almsgiving is an important part of the spiritual life.  Just think of all the people in the world that live in poverty an misery, not even having one proper meal a day to eat.  Every night one billion people go to bed hungry – just think about it.  About 80% of the world’s population lives in poverty.  The bottom 50% of the world’s population owns only 1% of the world’s resources.  God will one day hold each of us accountable for what we have done with our money – especially in the face of all the tremendous world wide poverty and need.  Give at least 1% of your income for alms – for the poor, the needy and the hungry, and try to increase it as you continue to prosper financially.  Proverbs 19:17 says: “He that is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord, and his good deed will He repay unto him.”  And Proverbs 28:27 says: “He who gives to the poor shall not lack, but he who hides his eyes shall have many a curse. “  We should always support the poor, the needy, the hungry, and the orphans (“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”  James 1:27)

First Fruits
We will discuss first fruits offering lastly, because it is unfortunately not a well known concept to many Christians.  I will therefore spend some time explaining it.  But actually the Bible requires it béfore anything else.  First fruits actually come before tithes in the Bible – Terumah (Hebrew for first fruits) comes before first tithes (Deut 26 & Neh 10:37).  We should not confuse first fruits with the tithe, ten percent of our income.  First fruits is different from tithes.  First fruits is given at the béginning as a pledge for the rest, not at the end as with tithes (not as a debt that we owe, but as a seed that we sow).  It is given at the beginning of the year (consecrating the first hallows and blesses the rest.  If you sanctify the root, the whóle tree is holy – Rom 11:16), and with all other further increases during the year: Prov 3:9.  It was always given to the priest himself personally in biblical times (See: Terumah).  It is given today to the minister, pastor, man or woman of God representing Christ in your life – and thus also sharing in his or her grace, blessings, favor, anointing, and ministry.  If you don’t have a minister or pastor in your life that is worthy of your first fruit, add it to your tithe, or give it to the poor (Didache).  See Scriptural examples of first fruits in: Ex 23:16,19; 34:26; Lev 23:10; Num 18:12-28; Deut 8:1-5; 26; Neh 10:35-39; 12:44; 2 Kings 4:42; Ez 44:30, 48:9-12, and Rom 11:16.  In Malachi 3:8 where the Bible says: “Wherein have we robbed You?  In tithes and offerings”, the word for offerings in the Hebrew here is heave-offerings, or terumah; that is first fruits.  Israel has been robbing God in tithes and first fruits.  It is true that some ministers and pastors may exploit this teaching for their own gain, but that doesn’t negate the biblical validity of it.

Based in part on the measures described by the prophet Ezekiel, Jewish Law set the minimum amounts of the “great offering” at 1/60 (1.67%) for a poor person, 1/50 (2%) for the average person, and 1/40 (2.5%) for the generous person.  Hillel, Jewish doctor of the law and sage during the time of Christ taught the same amounts.  We should try to give 2.5% if we can.  Don’t ónly invest into general ministry and evangelism, but also invest dírectly into the personal lives of men and women of God in your life who are a blessing to you.  In the Bible God made ample provision for the priests and Levites, so that they could do their work whóleheartedly, without coveting after other peoples wealth and possessions.  Gód was their portion and inheritance, and not land and other things.  First fruits offerings bring significant financial and other increase in our lives!  Many Christians can testify to a glorious breakthrough in their finances when they added first fruits to their other regular types of giving.

So, what are your first fruits to God really?  It could be your first pay check in that new job; it could be a portion of the sale of your house or property.  It is really néw money or new goods of any kind that God supplies to us in many ways.  First fruits can be calculated from the first week salary, or better even, giving the whole of the first week salary.  But this is up to you.  It should preferably be calculated percentage wise from your first month’s salary, or your first profits in business.  You further give first fruits every time when you get an increase: Prov 3: 9: “Honor the Lord with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase… “  It can also be the first money from a new job.  It can be added to the first money you give to a new church.  These are just examples.  There are no strict and exact biblical requirements; let the Holy Spirit guide you specifically what Hé wants yóú to do.

All these things I have written above are not to bring you into bondage through legalism, but to simply give you biblical principles and guidelines to guide your finances and giving.  Without them Christians tend to give very little, many times not even one percent of their income to Christ and His kingdom!  Maybe at the moment you’re not even giving your tithe and this is all new to you.  Well, do you want to really prosper financially or not?  Remember also, God doesn’t always give us money in return, but many times open doors and new opportunities, wonderful creative ideas and innovative ways to make money. Implement these principles for at least three consecutive months and see what God will do for you personally.

There are also other things that are also crucial to overall financial success, like integrity-honesty, diligence, savings, careful money management, financial self-control and discipline, and wise stewardship.

Revolutionize your finances!  Start practicing and living by God’s Kingdom principles and see the turnaround, breakthroughs and miracles in your life within a short time.  Many Christians can testify to this.  Get out of debt, throw off the world’s shackles, and become financially free and prosperous!  It ís within your grasp.

On Investing in 2012 and Beyond

Regarding matters of investing just the following:

When it comes to investing, one of the golden rules is: “never put all your eggs into one basket!”  Diversifying is the rule to successful investing.  Although Warren Buffet says that if you REALLY know what you’re doing you don’t have to diversify so much – unfortunately most people don’t!  We can learn much from the Jews, as God has blessed them mightily when it comes to finances and wealth.  They have always traditionally invested in 1) Property 2) The stock market 3) Gold, and 4) Art.  Historically the stock market has always offered great value, if relatively low risk stocks are acquired in companies that have proven themselves over time; but it is a medium to long term investment, and nót short term.  Speculating/day trading is just too risky and too close to gambling.  Unit trusts are also a good way to invest indirectly in the stock market.  You can buy property shares, or property unit trusts on the stock market.

I have always liked gold very much as an investment.  It has absolutely proven itself over centuries as a safe haven and store of wealth; but it can be volatile and is a bit high currently.  Over the last decade, stocks went down 24 percent while gold rose 280 percent.  Gold shares in good gold mining companies are great, as well as gold ETF’s and gold unit trusts, gold coins, and gold jewelry.  Though gold coins are better stored safely in a bank.  Silver is also a good investment, and becoming quite popular – many people are increasingly looking at it (coins, jewelry, silverware, etc).  Over the last ten years the price of gold has gone up 500% and the price of silver 600%.  I personally love to invest in fine art and have made some good money with it.  But then you must really know what to buy.  Some believe it is the finest investment of all, like Paul Getty did.  It is also a medium to long term investment though, and it should be securely stored.

Having said the above however, I must say and stress that I believe that the world’s financial system has a good chance of seriously crashing/collapsing in the near future.  The dollar will also most likely be severely devaluated…  The 2008/9 crisis were just blips and warnings of what really is still to come.  Capitalism is being seriously shaken everywhere.  The world is operating on fiat money, which is essentially worthless and cannot be sustained for much longer.  When the world was taken off the gold standard (when our money was linked to the gold standard and still had some intrinsic value), economies did reasonably well.  Many nations are now essentially bankrupt.  I strongly believe that in these times one should not really be part of the financial system and the stock market, but rather be investing in tangible assets – hard assets.  I personally believe in gold (gold coins, collectable/rare gold coins), silver, fine art, and prime land – maybe also good stands and buildings when it comes to property.  It is not really so much part of the system.  Remember also, people increase, but land never.

PLEASE don’t gamble your money away on forex, options or futures!  95%+ of all people lose their money on these kinds of day trading – and so have I!  The odds are tótally stacked against you!  See my post on this blog about forex, speculation and day trading.

Please also be véry careful to invest in any business venture that offers interest rates, or returns on an investment that are much higher than a bank can offer.  It is usually a scam!  But people nevertheless get caught again and again.  There are also many, many pyramid/ponzi schemes out there.  People/friends are always trying to involve one in those, because when they do, they get you in their downline and directly benefit from your purchases in the future.  It too (including network-marketing/multi-level marketing), according to me, is unethical, because they basically want to make money out of your purchases, without doing any real work for it themselves!

It is also crucial to have a good financial adviser whom you can trust.  Usually the ones in the banks are not so expensive and are sometimes even free, because your have your account there!

I hope this helps.  But, in the last instance this is only my personal opinion – you have to ultimately decide for yourself.

Important Questions to Ask Yourself in 2012

Ask yourself these simple but important questions at the beginning of 2012:

1)  Who am I? (can you define yourself in one or two sentences?)
2)  Why am I really here? (Do I REALLY know God’s will for my life?)

May 2012 be a year of greater self-discovery, leading to self-fulfillment and happiness!

“You have been born for a purpose the world cannot do without”

Is Forex – and most other financial trading – wrong or even maybe sinful for Christians?

I have stopped trading Forex altogether because I have developed serious ethical problems as a Christian with it.

Most types of financial trading and day trading are a zero sum game, even a negative sum game.  It produces NOTHING of value, no goods or services, and no wealth is created like in Stock Trading.  The net change in total wealth among traders is zero at the end of the day (sometimes even less!) – the wealth is just SHIFTED from one trader to another! (Reallocation of wealth – júst like in gambling)

It is far too close to gambling for me (some skill, a lot of chance), and you make gains ONLY at another’s expense!  Jesus said that we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  How can you do that when you profit only at somebody else’s expense?  It is a violation of Jesus’ most basic commandment for humanity.  And to give to worthy causes from Forex earnings may be great, but the end never justifies the means!  I personally consider Forex now essentially a form of legalized stealing and robbery.  The experienced Forex trader is committed to “fleecing” those who are inexperienced!

Don’t pray and ask God to help you with your financial trading – I don’t believe He will!  Don’t be deceived.  When I say God won’t help you with your financial trading, I don’t mean all trading.  I mean trading that tends to be morally wrong.  I tried it, while praying a lot about it, and in the end still lost most of my capital.  I don’t think God will get involved in practices that are very speculative and close to gambling.  It is simply against His Word.

Henry Ford said: ” Wealth is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of supplying a useful service.”

An agnostic has even said: “In Forex you’re not doing any useful work, and you’re hoping to make a lot of money from it, right?  Isn’t this really like stealing from the public?  You’re hoping to get a lot of money from moving currencies around, and you’re not giving the world anything in return – except moving some currencies around.  I think that’s just like theft.”

By the way, the odds ate totally stacked up against you in Forex.  Up to 95% of small forex traders loose all their money in trading.

Think carefully about what I have said.  This is how I think and feel right now.  I don’t know if anybody can convince me otherwise/refute my arguments?

(Additional Information:
When I say God won’t help you with your financial trading, I don’t mean all trading. I mean trading that tends to be morally wrong. I tried it, while praying a lot about it, and in the end still lost most of my capital. I don’t think God will get involved in practices that are very speculative and close to gambling.
